Stages of Change
Behavior changes in steps, not all at once. At Bennett Recovery, the Stages of Change model shapes how your treatment plan is built, meeting you where you actually are rather than where you're expected to be. You'll work through each stage at a pace that holds up.
How Stages of Change Works in Treatment
The Stages of Change model breaks recovery into steps, from not yet ready to fully committed and maintaining. In a session, a licensed clinician talks with you about where you actually are right now, not where you think you should be. You look at what motivates you, what holds you back, and what a realistic next step looks like. This helps with both substance use and mental health, because pressure to change faster than you're ready rarely sticks. As you progress, your clinician adjusts the approach and fits it into your wider treatment plan.
